Read MKE exist as a result of disproportionate gaps in reading achievement. The data is clear. Milwaukee’s test scores are significantly lower than the average reading scores statewide. Poverty and reading deserts with limited access to reading materials ratifies reading achievement gaps in Milwaukee. Everyone in every community should be outraged!
